I don't think either. I thought I saw C throughout the game. I saw Allen alot too. I was confused about who was playing where. I'm sure Allen played in the nickle package. Maybe other times too. Maybe they're looking at combinations to see what might work (better).

When was he playing strong side? I said above I was confused about who was where. I'm not looking for times. Just a brief explanation of what combos you think played.

If WW did play strong, and did do better, that might be very encouraging. Strong side LBs are harder to find. And the assignments may be more specific (go where the TE goes) than the weak side. I get the impression the weak side guy has more freedom, and freedom may be a hard thing.

I really would like to keep him. I think he has talent and plays hard.

I believe the nickel was WW/Allen, but at times, there was Witherspoon, Ciurciu, Allen in order of strength. Yeah, the assignments are somewhat more specific (or generally you see more of the same thing), just as with the SS. I've got a question into a source to see if the team has a word or two on it.

i just rewatched the entire game and i swear i did not see him do one positive thing. he takes terrible angles and constantly looks outa position to me. i don't think i have ever seen him shed a block. i don't think i ever saw him close to defending a pass ... he was usually 5 yds behind his man when he caught the ball. i see where he got credited for 4 tackles ... and i'm trying my best to think where. i know one was when he was trying to tackle the receiver who managed to tip-toe the sideline with him in tow for an extra 6 yds ... horrible fricking play. i think he may have gotten credit for falling on a player or two who had lost his/their balance and was going to the ground well down field. jumping on the pile seems to be his specialty. not only is he easily blocked but he quits on plays. too me he looks totally clueless out there ... perfect special teams candidate.

okay. so now you tell me specifically what positive plays he made in that entire game. i bet you can't name one. if ya can, i musta blinked.

me too. but didn't he hire an agent that folks were saying was going to make it a pain to try to resign him?

I think his stock has dropped some, so that agent may in fact be more receptive.

I've never been a big fan of Allen either, he's a fairly nondiscript player who lacks speed, but a lot of your criticisms of his mental play can go for our linebacking as a whole. WW has played better the last couple of weeks, but he was guilty of some guessing that allowed a few 20 yard runs to go through his hole. Atlanta and San Diego come to mind. And it really goes for everyone. We've been on our heels quite a bit, and I think guys are pressing.

Morgan's been decent at times, but that's about it.

I don't like the guy. But 'horrible fucking play" means he made a ton of mistakes, visible mistakes, not "I don't like the guy so here's a critique". I saw various issues with Ciurciu as well, but I understand both situations. I didn't see him out of position once, and I saw it plenty with WW. I didn't remember him shedding tackles, no. Never been good at that.
