So does anyone still want to stick up for Trgo?

Offense did enough to win today. Defense really let us down, especially at the end of the game. I'm sorry, the talent is there. The coaching is not.

The defense looked bad today. Safety play was poor all around. Even when minter was not fucking up, he dropped INT that hit him in the hands. Gamble Struggled and Wesley was worse. Wouldnt hurt to have help at LB either. Buckner did apply pressure today and Will Witherspoon had a good game.

what coaching decisions are we making that are poor? I can name tons on offense, even today when the passing O looked good. I'm not absolving Trgovac of blame, but there are mental errors being made, and they're not isolated to the D.

Coaching is more than just calling plays. It is instilling discipline, motivating, and teaching. Schemes may be ok, but the rest of the job isn't getting done.

We had OK pressure. We didn't do well on 3rd down, and that hurt. Losing two of our top three corners by the end of the game hurt.

I can blame the D for poor tackling at times, but we did tackle and we drove people into the ground 3 yards ahead instead of letting them run. It's a very small improvement, but it's still improvement.

Having lost our 2nd sting DT now, and our starting MLB, and holding them to 2.5 yards/play on the ground? Could certainly be worse. Of course, 3 rushing TDs hurt.

228 net yards passing? not terrible. Granted, Gamble and Wesley both hurt us with third down completions, penalties, and mental mistakes. Minter not holding onto that pick also hurt.

    Inconsistancy?

The D put up a hard-hitting 3 and out before our last score... then blown out on the last faiders drive.

At times, Jake had a lotta time to throw the ball, yet we couldn't get any holes open for the runners at all.

    WTF?

One second a hero :medal: , the next a zero :cold:

We should petition the league to do away with TE's.

well, it's a lot like the 2002 D. Allright statistically (it being healthy would add sacks, of course, but not to a 2002 level) but not very good on 3rd down, doesn't come up with turnovers, and holds teams to inexplicably low yardage numbers save for critical mistakes at the worst moments.
