Smith not getting cut today.

Regardless of not being the same guy he was a few years ago, he is still a solid threat. I don't think there is a single receiver on the team that puts as much effort into every play day in and day out. And no one holds other players back unless coaches play favorites and that's on coaches, not players. It's not like there is only 1 WR on the field for most plays. Steve isn't out there preventing the others from showing their skills or lack of. If we had a true WR threat, Olson wouldn't get all the touches he does.

I am really pissed about this. I don't think it saves us a fortune to go get someone else equal. I just don't see Steve as past being useful, and I think he's handled getting less touches this year well unless he's in the locker room pitching a fit.

 

Maybe, although it's hard to negotiate after you've openly peed in the punch bowl.

Smith about to get cut was speculation by the media, which may still turn out to be correct, but maybe a trade is the only option under consideration.
