What connection have you used in your vehicle? I used the fm modulator but I'm not happy with sound quality. My cd's and fm stations sound much better

FM modulator…I’ve got the s50 which has a control to increase the output strength of the signal…I’ve got it on about 75% and the sound quality is as good as CDs. The antenna on my car is right above the rear view mirror on the roof of the car...so it is probably closer than most vehicles.

Does yours allow you to increase the signal strength?

basically sounds like streaming from a radio station on my computer. which in essence is pretty much what it is. still, to me it's not that big of a problem when comparing to the actual content on regular radio.

Believe it or not, you will get better sound quality with one of those tape adaptors than you will with the fm modulators. If you don't like the look of that, get a wired fm modulator (eliminates static).

Or you could always get a new head unit with an auxilary input... or better yet with Sirius built in.

I've got a Sportster and I'm running the FM transmitter wire (modulator?) with no direct connection to the deck in my truck. The talk stations sound like a strong AM, but the music stations sound like FM mono, I guess. Not real crisp. That being said, my Sirius antenna is fastened to my dashboard. Dunno if moving it to the roof will help that very much. I have a hunch it won't. But I'd like to try that direct cable from the FM port on the back of the dock to the antenna port on my deck. That's gotta clean up the sound somewhat.
