    Instead of an ordinary boxwood get some hollies. Dwarf (or any sized) Nadinas are also nice as their leaves turn a deep red in the winter. Leland Cyprus grow like crazy around here.

    they were some kind of different boxwoods that grew in the shade, not my preference but needed something to plant to get ready to sell

    Nandinas are ok, but not my first choice. Bamboo would be nice.

    well bamboo doesn't work everywhere....like if there was a bamboo forest taking over the area in front of my porch
