9th, 17th, I don't really care that much about what we're going to deviate there. We're not looking for offensive impact or a QB, and DL may be on the list but it's not the most dire need, so in the end having something on the edge of the top 10 probably doesn't alter this franchise that much.

If Key retires, then Ted Ginn, WR, Ohio State. Otherwise, I like Landry, FS, LSU.

Chad Schroder Texas A&M. WR/PR. This guy impressed me with his punt returns versus Cal. IMO more of a blue collar player that we need for ST and backup WR than the losers we have. Led the team with 38 catches but a gutsy type of player in the mold of Tim Dwight. Seeme to realize that on punt returns the direction to run is North to South instead of east to West or freezing in one spot. With all the WO in the draft could get him in the low rounds.

FWIW, The three names I've heard bounced around in emails (at LB) are Willis, Alexander, and Stewart Bradley(?)

#14) LaRon Landry, FS, FSU (19)
I don't know why Michael Griffin would be ranked ahead of him, and as such, I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't last to our pick, but Landry is a guy who has great range and ballhawking skills but isn't afraid to put a lick on people either.

    alternate: Patrick Willis, MLB, Mississippi

#46) David Harris, MLB, Michigan (68)
Harris is a smart, instinctive plugger who finds the right holes but also has the ability to stay on the field on pass downs. He blitzes well and has very good zone range for a middle linebacker. He isn't enormously strong and won't make many highlight reels, but he's a steady player who gets to the ball and doesn't make many mistakes. Still, it's too bad that Buster Davis is ranked one spot too high to qualify.

alternate: Tom Zbitkowski, SS, Notre Dame

#78) Tim Duckworth, OG, Auburn (84)
A strong guard who has the ability to move defenders from the line of scrimmage, Duckworth would give us a different dimension up front. Already not the most agile guy, he also has some work to do on his technique and doesn't always seem to live up to his natural ability.

alternate: Jay Alford, DT/DE, Penn State

I really don't see us getting another young guard at this point, being as how one of our starters and our only reserve are both very young.

We'll add one guy if we don't bring Fordham back, and I was tired of picking between linebackers and safeties. Duckworth would be a good choice, as he'd give us strength that the others competing for RG won't have.
