So any official word that Brandon isnt released. Do we not want him back reguardless of when the dealine is?

 

They DID NOT take advantage of the oppurtunity to recall him

 

Even though they had a chance to recall him, it appears linebacker Brandon Short is going to remain a former Carolina Panther.

In the wake of the last-minute olive branch that extended free agency to Monday and made a new collective bargaining agreement seem possible and perhaps even likely, teams were offered the chance to recall any player released Thursday for salary cap savings. The Panthers weren't going to take the opportunity to keep Short, however, saving themselves more than $1.5 million worth of room under whatever cap they face.

"We're going to stick with that one," general manager Marty Hurney said Thursday.

They would have had to pay a $250,000 roster bonus, which apparently they didnt want to.
