    Way overweight, taking Ephedra, and ignored symptoms. I don't think you can make policy assuming players are going to be dumb. Also, that combo will get you killed even at 90 deg. A pitcher died shortly after that at 90 deg.

    The heat isn't as much a factor as is the humidity. It can be 95 degrees up here with 90% humidity and it feels like 15 degrees hotter. The heat index on a day like that is about 110-112 degree by my estimation. Two-a-days in August really sucked, 6am and thick humidity will have you sweating off pounds while it doesn't really feel that hot. The late morning and later practices is where guys tend to have problems.

    I'll never forget that first game of the season in Jacksonville. I believe it was in 96. 105 degrees on the field at gametime and we were in our black unis.. I was sweating just watching them on TV.

    Exactly.

    Northern Cali humidity is measured in the teens and low 20's.
