any input on guys who stand out and guys who are suckin would be appreciated

 

Butler made a nice pick, Anttaj Hawthorne was getting great penetration a la Jenx, doesn't look like he has control over his body yet but should be a beast.

Orton doesn't show the accuracy you'd hope, the RBs so far don't look good,

Fred Gibson shows great ball skills but his routes, could do better on his routes but should show up immediately. I'm growing on this guy again.

Campbell doesn't look bad.

LB Kirk Morrison seems like he can play at this level, still somewhat stands out against the run. Don't like the South line that much, will watch Brown to see how he's playing at C.

anyone know where I can get a running stats page?

 

James Butler grabbed an INT in man coverage, looked great.

Fred Gibson is looking damned good, caught 3 passes for 50 or 60 yards already.

Nobody can block Matt Roth, he's in the backfield a lot, and has recovered a botched QB-RB exchange already.

QBs are looking mediocre, Campbell sticks out a little bit, he's big and seems accurate on most throws.

 

over at NFL Draft Countdown they may want to make some adjustments . . . unless those rankings go unattended something tells me that Butler will move up a bit from #124

 

yeah he's top 60 IMO



orton looks frantic. The one thing you want to see is his accuracy and his ability to keep a drive going, and nada.
OL blocking is not looking great...no one looks good but Willis was getting abused for the South.
Smith needs to be a little more fluid at pass catching, he looks like the type TE that doesn't get YAC.

yeah, orton looked rattled from the very first snap.

 

Could the D-linemen looking good today get overvalued a bit due to mediocre O-line play or are some of those DLs just that good?
OR, are the senior O-linemen just that bad IYOs?

 

talent seems better along the DL overall, and the lines don't have cohesiveness. Either way, a lot of DL are looking better than they probably are, yes.
