As I keep pointing out, the Panthers are 7th in cash spending with the 2nd oldest roster in the league. Canales has to win now. You don't build your roster this way to go 4-13 or 6-11. People will (and should be) fired if that's the ROI.

I think this season is all about Bryce. If we go 6-11 but he looks like a franchise quarterback, then Canales is going to be ok.

Our older players are guys like Thielen, Jansen, Dalton, and Hecker. Clowney is temporary and everyone knows it. Thompson is in his final seasons. If you don't draft well, you're going to have an older roster, and the guys responsible for that are gone now.

OLB is gonna be our biggest draft target next season if Bryce comes around this season

I keep thinking back to the draft and Edgerrine Cooper and Kool Aid McKinstry were both available there for the picking, but the team opted for a injured RB instead. Don't get me started about Jackson Powers-Johnson or Ladd McConkey.

If that's the goal, it's a very depressing one.

It would be one thing if Bryce Young looked better while surrounded by young, cheap talent whom the QB was simultaneously making look better, and the team was a feisty 6-11 flush with cap space. That would be a positive season. Going 6-11 with a roster of expensive, stopgap veterans is depressing. I don't even care how much Young improves at that point. What have you accomplished, aside from giving some temporary relief to David Tepper's ego?

6-11? That’s a terrible thing to hope for.

Unless Canales is more than a motivational speaker, and we don’t know that he is, I don’t see 6 wins. Teams will hang points on this defense.

What you're seeing is a failure of leadership at every level of the organization.
