Obviously both would be helpful, but I think it's actually critical to use both. In fact, that's one of the reasons I think this discussion actually is important. I doubt anyone would have guessed that Jake has done better in games where he was sacked more frequently, which does tell us something, if we're not exactly sure what that is. At the least it makes us question whether or not his screw-ups are honestly a result of pressure from the defense or perhaps something else entirely. For my own part in watching him play, I was under the impression that pressure was a prominent cause, but it could just be that instances in which Jake has to make a snap read are what get him into trouble. That kind of generalization would account both for instances in which he throws off his back foot as a result of pressure (whether or not it's even close to him) as well as the crazy interceptions he routinely throws on slants. This would also fit into the idea that being more patient in the pocket would lead to a better QB rating (along with more sacks). So if I were sure that this was a likely cause, I'd probably chuck most of the slants and other hot reads, and get Jake to focus on taking his time in the pocket and either taking the sack or throwing it completely out of bounds when forced to make a quick decision.
