Ray Guy played on a SB team or two i think and everyone (even the fans of the opposing teams) could identify him. Bum Phillips at least once confiscated the ball and had it checked for helium (not that the Raiders would cheat). Having a great punter is a good thing. Not needing a great punter is a good thing. Not needing a great punter yet having one is even a better thing. Just that much harder to beat. (Probably can say the same for any position including QB). And believe me Ray Guy demoralized you (me) with his punts ... unless White Shoes ran it back. Our defense would outperform theirs and yet it seemed like we were always playing outa a hole.

Not saying I was or wasn't a fan of our punter last year.

His "antics" probably did get him a ticket out, but needles are beyond "antics". I really wonder why anyone would trade for him. 4 game suspension, minimum, probably. Who knows what's to come out?* But he is a DUI getting, can't keep his mouth shut, needle using guy who happens to be able to kick a ball straight, high, long. I want to win, but I'd want a guy who doesn't cause problems too. Maybe we can make up the difference with better execution.

Yet must know who the long snapper is :satana:

    * I've seen it written here (or somewhere) that players could have been the middlemen for other players... he didn't look 'roided up to me, really (as if I'd really know). If he wasn't injecting: who was?

Will they consider his DUI when handing out punishment for the steroids IF they do anything? I know it's a "different drug", but would he be a "repeat" offender?

I know they have suspensions for testing positive. What is the punishment for purchasing? I am not naive enough to believe he purchased steroids and never used them but if I am Todd's attorney I am asking for proof. I have tests (probably) that shows he was in compliance with the leagues steroid guidelines.
I would be surprised if any suspensions for steroids are given to any of the three guys mentioned.

I thought his punting was much less consistent last year than it was the previous years. I think Fox etc feel he got paid and started goofing off.

You can win big without a good punter. New England won the Super Bowl with Ken Walter. Case Closed.
