everybody wants cowher and nevermind the fact it took a while to win it, but look what pittsburgh was put through with QB's... kordell stewert (5), neil o'donnel (5), tommy maddox (2), and mike tomczac (1) before they drafted roethlisberger... a couple of those seasons o'donnell played under chuck noll, but that also included bubby brister (3) and mark malone (4)

it's not that bad panther fans

    agree fox stays, davidson goes

It needs to start with a real GM, a real football person, not a damn beat writer (no offense Gantt, Reed etc..) then let that person decide on Fox's future, Fox seems knowledgeable enough but his game management sucks, his dedication to his garbage sucks, his roster building sucks, etc...

Ditto. I'm not a Hurney fan but responsibility for the Peppers situation is a little murky to me, I think JR might be behind some of that. The draft picks, I blame both Hurney and Fox.

The Peppers thing is real bad for one year, the draft and quarterback strategery is more damaging in the long run, IMO.

with a young head coach, Meeks staying would make sense. The LB and DL coaches both seemed good pickups.

Totally agree that Hurney, who's been here since 98 and defacto GM since 01, isn't some package deal hire with Fox. He got made official as GM in 02 and clearly had a hand in his hire, but it seemed the Steeler and Giant recommendations were bigger.

I could honestly see Hurney staying longer than Fox, regardless of whether I think it's the right thing (I don't have an opinion right now really).

It seems that Hurney's prior profession weighs a lot heavier on his reputation than it really should. Guy was one of the first capologists, worked in football for twenty years.
