He has 20 stone tablets. The first five are different variations of the toss. The next ten are different versions of draw. The next four are passing plays where Jake tosses it up for Moose. And his final tablet, coated in gold because it's his favorite, is the fake dive/pitch play.

for one, I'm not limited by words. It takes a lot longer to say the bullshit I have to say. And two, there's no such thing. Every OC has flaws. I personally tend to like Shanahan's approach to running the WCO the most, followed by Reid's.

I'd say his HC and his former QBs coach bitching about the offense being complex does pretty much say "the last guy made things too hard." And that suggests that the struggles of the offense were totally on McCarthy's shoulders when I put them quite squarely on Brooks'. McCarthy left, so it's quick, easy, and convenient to blame him.

I have no idea how Turk Schonert's still in the league after 2001.

They do have a point, it was hard. That's a lot of shit to remember. I know they are paid to do so and they should be professional about it, but I can see where they're coming from.

Do you believe that some HC's (Fox) stress slowing the game down (heavy running) in order to help his defense.

That seems like a silly, over-simplfied question, I know. But I do believe Fox's theory is in order to build a great defense (which he has yet to do), we must control the clock and limit turnovers. Does that make any sense?

More than likely, it does not.

Yes. And I don't believe that's terribly necessary - getting the ball downfield and sustaining a drive should be more important than just killing the clock as long as possible.

It makes sense, and it's a school of thought. Not one I subscribe to, as something that should over-ride the basic ideal of an offense (score points, sustain drives), though, and that's where my basic problems with the offense we have lies.

You asked how he was being scapegoated. I can't blame McCarthy for the offensive problems when the entire team was undisciplined and underfocused.
