Most of the NO Saints football fans are from the Louisianna, Mississippi, Alabama area. These are rabid FB fans. There should be an area in amonst those states that would work. San Antonio is not any better or more wealthy than the Gulf States. Unless all those Mexicans have suddenly become wealthy since I was there last.

You'd be surprised. Doing shit jobs that the whites won't do pays some good money.

Much for the same reasons the Greenville Braves moved to Jackson Mississippi because Greenville wouldn't pay for a new stadium (now they will :wtf23: )

Yeah, it's f'up. Now, a land developer has been talking about luring the Tenn. Diamond Jaxx or the Columbus (?) Catfish to Columbia and building them a stadium in NE Cola. in his shopping village if the COUNTY Council will help with the financing. Haven't heard anymore on that, tho.

I wonder how they will handle previously sold tickets (including season tickets) when they decide where they are playing this year. Will they do a blanket refund of all tickets and sell new ones? Will they give people the option of getting a refund?

That would suck big time if you are a Saints season ticket holder, the Saints play in San Antonio or somewhere further away, and you're stuck with the tickets along with the damage to your home from the hurricane.

I think this is more the press's doing. It's been a pretty well known fact that Benson wasn't happy and wanted to move so it's not like the hurricane hit and suddenly he wanted out. Now they'll establish something of a relationship with an area that he was interested in before all this mess so if the bottom line is he's leaving eventually, why move back in a year or two when NO is somewhat rebuilt only to pack up and leave in another year or so. Yes, it is sort of salt on the wound, but I think it's the press making it an issue rather then Benson. Gossip and bad news sell papers and air time and the reality is this tragedy and anything that adds feul to the fire is something they'll go after.

At one point there were talking to one of the Alabama coast cities that is a vacation spot. That would be nice.

San Antonio is not a big population center, and it is surrounded by nothing. Austin, also not big, is the nearest big city. After that, I guess its Houston. I think they will have problems too, like Jacksonville.

The city should have let the Saints go a long time ago and used all that money they'd given to sports teams (including the Hornets) to making sure the city was safe.

I have the same problem with Charlotte. The budget goes up and up every year and they can barely balence it. The schools are crap, they're cutting police officers and fireman but we have plenty of money to build an arena for the Bobcats or to build a Nascar hall of fame.

With the NFL being as profitable as it is there is no reason in the world a city should being paying for anything.

They just had a press conference and said they are more committed to N.O. than ever and will be there for the rebuilding.... I hope they are telling the truth.

Austin itself is Charlotte sized. San Antonio is slightly larger.

Not really the same situation as JAX.
