Its really hard to read too much into any preseason performance. Nobody expected the Panthers to go 1-7 after a 4-0 preseason.

My concern over the Saints game is not enhanced or lessened by what I saw last night.

I question the Saints leaving their starters on the field so long in the 2nd preseason game. Maybe Haslett hadn't seen what he wanted out of the first group.

I think some of the penalties can be attributed to it being a preseason contest.

The Brown kid looked good in spots, lost in others. That's expected of a rookie, espcially against Bellechick's 3-4. Dwight Smith is a keeper.

The Saints game week 1 will probably be decided by our OTackles against their DEnds and their OTackles against our DEnds.

Agreed FaithWarrior. I expect the game to be close and decided by a turnover. I'll be watching Brown to see how he matches up against your DE's all game. Who will be running the ball in Week 1?

I would just refer to him as 'Blur' as that is what the Saints D will be calling him...

It really won't matter much, imo. Either our o blocks well and all of them run with success, or they lay down and none of the backs have any success.

I mainly watched this game to see how the Fresno State rookies played. Sanders was lost, but Logan Mankins (LG) played extremely well for a rookie. Looked like a seasoned veteran.

I also was pleasantly surprised to see Kyle Eckel out there for NE. I was hoping he'd get picked up by someone. I lub me some Navy football.

Jammal Brown looked good at times, like Faithwarrior mentioned. But I also agree with Magnus -- he seems to play more like a guard than a tackle. His lateral movement is lacking. He's going to get eaten alive by our DE's. NE split McGinest out wide and JB couldn't cut him off in time.

I think Rohan Davey is going to get cut.
