    Btw, if the "Leo" #91 plays in the up position this is technically not an under 4-3. It becomes a reduced and/or shaded 3-4.

    "Knowing the techniques also tells you exactly what a defender's general responsibility is. In a 4-3 formation, where the players are likely to line up in the odd-technique positions, a defensive lineman is responsible for his gap. In a 3-4 formation, where the player lines up over the offensive lineman in front of him, the defender is responsible for two gaps."

    In the manner that it's illustrated, it does. The offensive lineman in the nfl are far too good to allow a defensive lineman to line up in one gap, play that gap, and play the next fucking gap to his inside with a Tackle, Guard, or Center playing between he and said gap. Hence my previous posts regarding two gap players lining head up with the offensive lineman (2-4-6 techniques) to facilitate control of both gaps.
