I am hoping we add a guy in the draft. Maybe not in the first round but at least by the 3rd or 4th round I would like to get some one to add to the mix. Here is a list of the top twenty guys I found. I am kind of intrigued by Gerald Riggs Jr. He has good size and obviously good blood lines.

    1. Reggie Bush Southern Cal
    2. DeAngelo Williams Memphis
    3. LenDale White Southern Cal
    4. Laurence Maroney Minnesota
    5. Joseph Addai L.S.U.
    6. Maurice Drew U.C.L.A.
    7. Brian Calhoun Wisconsin
    8. Jerious Norwood Mississippi St.
    9. Leon Washington Florida St.
    10. DonTrell Moore New Mexico
    11. Wali Lundy Virginia
    12. Andre Hall South Florida
    13. Jerome Harrison Washington St.
    14. Taurean Henderson Texas Tech
    15. Mike Bell Arizona
    16. Gerald Riggs Jr. Tennessee
    17. Cedric Humes Virginia Tech
    18. Quinton Ganther Utah
    19. Terrence Whitehead Oregon
    20. P.J. Daniels Georgia Tech

We aren't looking for a Kentucky Derby winner.

Put me down as a 2nd round Maurice Drew guy. He's 5'6' 3/4 but he's the fastest RB in the draft and full of Steve Smith little guy syndrome.

I am hoping we can nab a tight end in the second round. It is a deep position in the draft and we might be able to get a solid prospect in the second. A guy like Byrd should be there.

Back to the topic of running backs, Drew does sound interesting. I haven't ever seen him play so I can't suggest taking him. However, at that height 207 lbs is strong. I would imagine he would be difficult to find much less tackle if he has any skill whatsoever. Sort of like Warrick Dunn with a punch.

Do you realize that Byrd had a lengthy injury history at USC? I realize he's been talked about a lot, but he's definitely not good value in the 2nd even though someone will end up taking him there.

And as for Drew, I like him a lot but I doubt this offense would utilize him properly and I can't see us spending a second rounder on a guy who will primarily be a return man.

Any tight ends that should be there for our second rounder that you do like?

It's the all-UCLA backfield. Maybe Texas can draft Reggie and bring OJ in off the golf course and we can get ourselves a SoCal rivalry goin?

    (okay Drew is interesting)

He had a knee injury in his soph year, and aggravated the kneecap the next spring (probably due to taking the patellar tendon for surgery), but I still dig him at the end of 2. Whether we want a guy that has deep ability or has more skill in receiving than blocking is another story.
