Running Back

The only other two under contract are Elijah Hood and Reggie Bonnafon. I think Bonnafon has a decent chance of making the team as the #3 back. It seems like we've been grooming him for the Fozzy Whittaker/Nick Goings role.



I do not think we will sign a back. It's obviously that McCaffrey is the team's workhorse. A mid-round selection seems more likely.

Travis Homer from The U is a name to watch. He's got a McCaffrey skill set, and if we're going to build the offense around CMC, it would be better to have an interchangeable backup.

Ok, now that I've had plenty of time to think about it...

I don't see us taking a RB until day three, at best. And that's only if we find one that's dropped way further than he should have. The team needs depth along both lines, and in the secondary. Those are the positions we'll try and fill later in the draft. If we NEED a running back, we can get CAP or Fozzy for minimum salaries and they already know the system. And the odds are that if the need arises we can find some help in free agency after the draft.
