Roster Prediction 1.0

Jacksonville had a shitty defense last year but Travon Walker and Josh Allen weren't the problem. They're the only bright spots on that side of the ball, so Ickey being out is not a great start.

I'm proud of my Incoom prediction. That was a guy nobody was talking about, but I knew he was an Evero favorite from Denver. I'm also proud of my James Mitchell prediction, knowing Canales wants to play more multiple TE sets. Classic B&B, seeing signs that no one else can see. Love it.

I never really bought into the Renfrow hype, even towards the end. Dumping both him and Thielen does surprise me, but I don't disagree with those decisions at all. Coker has looked fantastic, and maybe they can scheme up some easier stuff for Legette instead of trying to turn him into a complete X receiver. I'm pretty excited about that trio in the aggregate, plus David Moore has been an okay security blanket as WR4. A lot of Panther fans shit on that guy, but he's perfectly fine for what he is.

Blackshear surprised me. In hindsight, it probably shouldn't have. He's returned a lot of kicks, but he's never been good at it. Here's hoping Etienne can give them something there.

 

In summary, I'm more encouraged with the process of building the roster than the actual roster itself, if that makes any sense. The talent level still isn't quite there for a special season, but the moves have been carefully thought out and executed by a professional. I can tell Morgan knows what he's doing, even if I don't always agree with him. That's a meaningful step forward for the Panthers.
