Word is RMJ could be cut this camp, too.

I could see someone throwing a 5th out there for Carter, but yeah, other than that its just been paying people too much.

not that a 5 is golden, but generally, we could live without those guys with or without the pick. If, during our clusterfuck that was a receiving corps last year, we picked up a veteran instead of Carter, I think we'd have been better off.

To me, you sign as many of these guys to 4 year deals right off, down to the 5th or 6th rounders. The bonus difference will be in the hundreds of dollars. Then you don't have to pay Michael Gaines $1.4 million for no reason.

We should have made it easy for someone to steal a lot of those guys.

Okay, here's a rough outline I came up with this afternoon. BASE is base salary if the pick makes the roster. R3, R2, and R1 are high draft pick escalations. If the rookie wins a starting job, they get the START escalator. If the rookie makes the Pro Bowl, they get the PB bonus.

    .......... BASE........ R3............. R2............. R1.......... START....... PB

    ST...... $150K..... +$25K........ +$50K........ +$75K....... +$100K.... +$750

    P........ $200K..... +$25K........ +$50K........ +$75K....... +$100K.... +$750

    K........ $250K..... +$25K........ +$50K........ +$75K....... +$200K.... +$750

    FB...... $200K..... +$25K........ +$50K........ +$75K....... +$100K.... +$750

    S........ $200K..... +$25K....... +$100K...... +$250K...... +$450K..... +$1M

    TE...... $250K..... +$25K....... +$100K...... +$250K...... +$450K..... +$1M

    OLB.... $300K..... +$25K....... +$100K...... +$250K...... +$500K..... +$1M

    DT...... $300K..... +$100K...... +$150K...... +$300K...... +$600K..... +$1M

    DE...... $400K..... +$100K...... +$150K...... +$300K...... +$600K..... +$1M

    WR..... $400K..... +$100K...... +$150K...... +$300K...... +$600K.... +$1.5M

    CB...... $500K..... +$100K...... +$150K...... +$300K...... +$600K.... +$1.5M

    HB...... $500K..... +$100K...... +$150K...... +$300K...... +$600K.... +$1.5M

    MLB.... $750K..... +$50K....... +$100K...... +$250K...... +$750K..... +$2M

    QB...... $750K..... +$50K....... +$100K...... +$250K...... $1.25M..... +$3M

No way I'd rather have RMJ than Gamble. :saywhat: That's ludicrous.

what so great about gamble? Marshall should start over him.

I'd rather have Marshall, Lucas, and RMJ as the nickle, then our Secondary now.
