    I've never used the tape method. I take a razor knife and score the line several times and then cut up to it. As long as you don't cross the score it will never splinter. You don't need any special blades and a skill saw is all you need.

    Just fucking do it. Even if you fuck up Luan is a cheap ass door to replace.
