    Undoubtedly.
It's just football. You just fucking play it. I don't care whether he has anxiety over being in the spotlight, just play the damn game and do what you gotta. Got all life to sit there in a ball like that Zoloft bubble, football ends. He threw away what could've been one of the better careers in the league, but I guess he was doing that anyway.

Robert Smith thinks that the punishment running backs take is inhumane? Well the fucking money they make is pretty fucking insane, so deal with it. It would sure be nice to get a boatload of money, including a signing bonus which is obviously based on the assumption that you'll finish out the contract, and just fucking quit so you can go travel. What a selfish jackass. The NFL GAVE him the money that enables him to do what he wants, yet he has the fucking balls to badmouth its rules and turn his back on it. If it's so bad, give back the signing bonus money that applies to the remainder of the length of your contract. Give away all the income you've made from the NFL and GO to jamaica and live in a tin shack and be happy. It was fine to play by the NFL's rules until he got the money he needed to be a fucking slackass pothead, eh? What a fucking user.

His life. His body. He has paid his debt to the NFL with the 4-5 years he played. He earned the money. Let him retire. Same thing with Barry Sanders. Football is a game. When it's lost it's fun, then quit. The smart NFL stars quit and find careers.

Ricky is doing what so many 20 yearolds do. Finding yourself is important and it often takes moving on or experiencing new things. This guy has lived and breathed football his entire life. He is ready to move on. Most of us don't get to choose when we move on from sport careers, due to injury or lack of skill. Ricky is lucky.

This sums it up....It ain't about money....it's about peace of mind.

``I've had no money before,'' he said. ``People are worried about the future of my children, but a child doesn't need much to be happy - needs food, a change of clothes and for you to pay attention to him. A bottle of baby food costs 79 cents. I have that much.''

This guy has already found what so many people are still searching for. Peace.

Maybe he has plans to pursue an acting career. Thinking of the commercial where he said "I don't have a dog" brings tears to my eyes.

The only part I don't like in all of this is his not letting the Dolphins know around the draft or before Eddie George or Anotain Smith signed. Other than that I applaud him for doing what makes him happy. He doesn't owe the fans shit as they are not around on Mondays when his body is a wreck or wehen he is in his 50s getting knee and hip replacements. Heck if I had millions in the bank I wouldn't mind traveling and smoking killer weed. It's his life, not ours. That and for all that whine about loyalty where was the Titans loyaty to Eddie George? It's a two way street and 95% of the time it's the team that squeezes the player for all their talent and then cuts them. Hats off to Ricky for doing something for him. Should be interesting phone calls to his team mates later on when he calls them. The timing was all wrong thats the bad thing IMO
