The thing about adapting to rule changes and scoring more points even if we lose seemed like a knock on Fox to me. I suspect though that Denver is happy with the amount of fan interest they have right now.

I would love to know what would have happened if we had kept Fox as HC and Meeks as DC but brought in Chud and drafted Newton. I bet the defense would have been a lot better and we would have won a few more games.

the part about ae gave me the feeling jr has say when he wants to. the part about not knowing about ae until he plays, that bothered me a lot. jr must like him. the free agents, and draft strategy, and the comments about rivera's guys made me think he trusts rivera a lot more than fox. rivera played in the league, won a championship, and so did jr. i think rivera is gonna get more say than anyone. and, some of you guys are hard on him, but i think he has that dick vermeil thing going on a bit. father figure, linebacker... it could be a very good combination of qualities.

Cam would have sat on the bench, and you would have seen allot of Anderson...

Until we started 1-4 with Anderson and Fox told Chud to design plays around the quarterback kid.

It is easier to play defense and give up fewer points when you get some help from the offense. The 70s Steelers defense would have struggled with the horrid offense we had last year with no NFL caliber QB on the roster.

Actually the opposite is true, as the Packers, Saints, and Patriots could all tell you. When you're not scoring on offense, teams can just run the ball and end the game earlier. When you are scoring on offense, the other offense is more aggressive.

Well, but not really, and you're being hypocritical again.

You used defense overall to illustrate how much better KC's defense is vs. Denver's. (11th vs. 20th)

But in truth, in points scored, they were pretty much equal, the difference being about a FG.

Now you're just throwing stats out there to make a blanket statement.

In truth, Carolina's defense has regressed dramatically.

Even going by points allowed, we still fell off. Last year, considering our D was on the field almost the entire season, they played outstanding considering what our defense dealt with this year. This year, they were on the field much less. They played with leads in almost every game.

    Overall?

    Last year's was 18th.

This year we fell ten spots to 28th.

Actually I didn't, and the comparison was to Detroit, not Denver: www.thisboardrocks.com/forum/showthread.php?p=2687496#post2687496

Don't you ever get tired of lying, Purr? How many is this now? Ten? Twenty? Thirty? Several times each week you lie about something I've said, I provide the link to what really happened, and then you don't apologize or correct yourself. It's old, so please knock it off. And for the record, I've consistently referenced points allowed when discussing any defense because that's what is actually important. It's fine to look at yards allowed also, but points allowed is the far more important measure. You're the one who always looks at yards.
