I don't like that at all. Peppers is not a loud, demonstrative person and trying to goad him into being a vocal leader won't help anything. I've heard that Julius talks to guys privately if they need a talking to, but it's a common mistake to expect a player to lead a locker room just because he's the best player.

i dont mind it so much. coming from the owner, i think it sends a positive message to the player that expectations are high, and the player can in turn view it as, they want that from me, they plan on pahying me to do it.

it's about contract. That's part of what I got out of it, honestly.
    Nice segment, Mike.

thanks. i didn't want to leave anything out from Richardson, so that way he couldn't be taken out of context. It is about contract, but also JR's ideal of being a Panther.

    yep. good job.

but one thing struck me as a little off . . . will someone explain to me why Richardson pointed out Jason in that group of apparent team leaders?
Since he couldn't have been calling out our punter I'll assume that he was addressing the much more vital Jason in attendance . . . .

    our longsnapper of course :189:

I didn't see the piece, but calling on a player to be a leader isn't a good thing. Players either are or aren't comfortable with that role, and asking Peppers to take it on might be a burden that could affect his mindset and performance. It's better to let players settle into the roles they're more comfortable in, and as I said, your locker room leader definitely doesn't have to be your best player.

I understand your point, Collin. I just think coming from JR is different than if it came from a Daniel Snyder. That's all.

Anyone know anything about Beason being a real vocal leader? I wouldn't mind seeing him step up.
