Colclough? Who da fuck is dis guy?? Really, we needed to spend this kind of money for a guy to be the 4th corner? And he's not that good either. But we all know Hurney is a genius so I'm positive he has a masterplan :handjob:

    I got it!

Coclough was brought in to build up Jarrett's confidence.

BTW, his deal pays him $650,000 in 2008 $1,650,000 in 2009 Holy backload Batman!

not sure on bonus money but I'd venture to quess it's $700,000 plus incentives.

Where did you find this? I'm been looking all over for the details. I had a feeling this contract would be backloaded, but it's nice to get confirmation.

BTW, I can't help but wonder if this signing is partly because they want to start Marshall and take him off of ST's duty, since this guy is also pretty good on the coverage units...it's something to think about.

I have a feeling ALL of our signings are of this nature.

Which is good, because all these guys are basically insurance - and cheap insurance.

Can't draft an OT or he sucks, or he gets hurt in camp? Sims.

Hartwig, Hang, Mathis, or Bridges suck dick or go down in camp? Vincent.

McClover and Johnson suck or go down in camp? Brayton.

None of these guys are improvements, but they offer depth / alternative / competition.

I expect they're also insurance against top picks expected to start being busts.

    Low bonuses whip ass. :two-cents:

Good analysis. I like the FA tactics the brass are employing now. Yeah, it may seem that the team is jockying around the roster more than before, but it's better than the mega-deals for older players low on fuel and maxing out our salary cap. If they suck or are injured with these two-year (insurance)deals, we only eat one season of salary (see David Carr) and if they do well we extend them. Seems like they finally got some business sense about them.

Apparently the big dogs learned their lesson from both the Wahle and Hartwig moves. Kemo's deal isn't smelling too damn rosey at this point either.
