Yep. His explanation may be true, but you don't say it. I didn't think that was a horrible throw. It was the fumbled snaps, the other int, but most especially, the good plays he did NOT make.

To me, it was about as bad a throw as a throw can be.

I thought it was at the time, but the stop and come back apparently is used. I think its chancy, but its always praised when it works. I guess there was a S over there too. If so, then it was bad. You know, I just don't remember much of the individual plays.

The ball was up in the air, and Moose should have adjusted to it more. But you don't say that.

It was way behind Moose and I fail to see any way he could have made a play on it. But there were two reasons why I thought the throw was awful. First, the corner was clearly bailing out and watching the QB, so anyone should have seen that and gone somewhere else. Then it was looped about as high as any throw I've ever seen that didn't go more than 20 yards. You couldn't ask for an easier interception.

Ball should never have been thrown, first off. Corner didn't bite on the pump fake and had control of the route.

And the throw was just as bad. Underthrown, inside, and floated in the air.

Moose really didn't have time to adjust to it. When he gets his head around, the ball is so badly thrown, there is no way he could stop and make a play on the ball.

They'd have done better without a QB.

If Moose had known that Rex was going to throw it up for grabs in his direction then he would probably at the least knocked it down. Moose made big catches on throws like that from Jake in the past. The difference is that Moose was not looking for it in this case. Whether that is on Moose or on Rex is hard to say but I would bet it is on Rex. Moose usually fights for the ball as well as anyone. Another half inch or so and the defender is out of bounds and there is no TD return. It might have made for a different game, at least a more exciting finish...

If the receiver is aware it might be a "short pass", you could maybe get by with that, but since when do you throw short when your WR is beyond the defense with a bit of clear field ahead. And Moose did get stopped and turned as fast as he could, but between stopping a full run and turning on that swamp they were playing in, it was too late to tackle the guy. I don't remember Moose being THAT close to the player to even have a shot at knocking it down. My recollection was that there were a few feet between the defender & Moose so that Moose's hands could not have smacked player or ball.

    Nor Grossman either, sadly.
