    That is my point and you missed it. There are different rules for different situations on the field. Why is it important where your feet are in some places and where the ball is in others? It's not consistent. In your example in the back of the end zone, the ball is out of the field of play, yet the feet establish where possession occurs. On the sideline, the feet establish possession, not where the ball is.

    At the front of the end zone, it's the ball, not the feet that establish the spot. You can catch the ball short of the end zone, yet stretch the ball over for a score. You can catch the ball with your feet in the end zone, yet if the ball is stretched over the goal line into the field, then it's not a score. It is not consistent. That's the point.
