Random draft thoughts

Only two guys have we had who could handle the middle of our D. Kragen and Burton. IMHO if you don't have that jammer in the middle you severly limit the DEs and LBs. We need that big Kragen clone in the worst way, even more than an OLman.

 

If Clayton's there they should take him. OL is a need I know but I think Clayton's a good pick at this spot. Excellent WR with some speed. Always made big plays for the Sooners and I'd like to see him doing it in a Panther uni..

 

After my post I looked around on Baas. Most seem to have him about 5 to 7 picks into the 2nd round. I think that 3rd round ranking is the oddball. You never know what will happen, but I bet he does go high 2nd round. I'd be willing to trade up. This is supposed to be a strong draft in the 2nd to 3rd rounds, though. Maybe package a trade down in the 1st with a trade up in the 2nd.

Also, PFW has us taking OLB-DL tweener DeMarcus Ware. He's supposed to be a great pass rusher, and a legit LB, (maybe). We haven't discussed him.

 

i wasn't thrilled with him in the SB game. would rather take an OL or WR in the 2nd depending on what we take in the first. wouldn't be disappointed with Ruud or Thurman or maybe a DT.
