Random Coaching Thought

With the emphasis being placed on head coaches these days and the prices teams are going to ensure they get the one they want, I got to thinking. I know this is a long shot, but any chance that NY Giants go after Fox at the end of the year. I was thinking back to how highly the owner spoke of Fox to Richardson when the interview process was going on. If he really felt that way, is there any chance he would try to give up a draft pick or a few to get him back in NY?

 

Didn't they change the rules for that recently, after Gruden went to Tampa? I can't imagine giving up picks for a coach, unless it would be a guy like Herm Edwards. I really think the Giants have bigger problems than Fassel, it's hard to win when your QB and RB both lead the league in fumbles at their respective positions. I saw where Tiki has more fumbles since 2000 than Jerry Rice does in his entire career, albeit a WR doesn't have the ball in his hands but maybe 1/3 as much as a RB.

 

They sure did now that you mention it. I'm not sure what they did, but they said they wanted draft picks for players, not coaches. Something in the back of my mind said it was only for assistants (no trades for them). If someone would look that up, that would be very interesting. I'm not motivated enough to do it myself.
