How much do you have? I haven't bought a computer since 96 and looking to get one. I'm not sure if I am spoiled with what I've had in my work PCs or if I need that much.

I remember my Commodore 64Kb and then we got the VIC 128Kb. My father worked for Burroughs (now Unisys). He brought home a computer with a 40Mb hard drive and said that wouldn't be eclipsed for years.

The real question is 'What are you gonna be doing with the computer?' If you are just gonna be browsing the web, using some Office applications, maybe even a little multimedia editing... Then the bare minimum will be more than enough.

If, on the other hand, you are gonna be doing some high-end multimedia editing, gaming, or even some CAD, then you may want to get 1 ro 2 GB of RAM.
