I am NOT a race fan. BUT I am going Saturday night. Get to watch from a suite. What the hell. Should be fun.

Who should I root for? Someone NOT popular. Maybe Sterling Marlin?

Famous last words...a few years ago someone gave me 4 tickets to a race a LMS. I am not a race fan either. I decided to go ~ "What the hell?" I so foolishly thought. Our tickets were in the turn 4 section. (You have the safety of the suite, tho.) Three people were killed that night right where we were sitting. I have no desire to go back...

Oh Lainey--you were there when THAT happened! That was SO awful! I would never go back, either! (well, that's not such a difficult statement to make since I've never been and don't want to go anyway). But I'm sorry you had to witness that firsthand.

It was not a Winston race. Open wheel.

Wreck in turn 4 - lost wheel flew up into the stands...death.

It took several minutes before things really registered. It seemed like forever then. When they brought in the body bags they looked like the ones I had seen in war movies...they draped the immediate area to shield the victims and tried to get alot of us out of there...people were stunned...it was beyond description.
