an offer is in the making, albeit beyond the deadline. RMJ did not tell me what the offer was, but he said he will sign it once he gets it.

Cool, thanks. He's got to have a pretty good idea of how much.

    Thanks,

I am just curious how much money he will be offered and whether or not the Panthers match. Clearly most here either don't want us too or don't think we will match which is fine I guess, but I think he is an ok player and provided his pay is cominserate of his ability I wouldnt be opposed to keeping him. With that said most of the contracts are over valued, so I doubt it's a reasonable offer.

We probably would have lost him next year and got nothing in return. I'll take a third for a backup player :bananalam

    From Chicago Tribune:

The Bears today signed restricted free agent cornerback Ricky Manning to an offer sheet, terms of which were not disclosed.

Manning, drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the third round of the 2003 draft out of UCLA, has played in all 55 games, starting 30, during his three-year NFL career with the Panthers. He has 13 career interceptions.
