    sounds like the guy is concerned about what other people think. that he will be judged by humans

    He is concerned with his testimony so that he can effectively spread the gospel message. Once you label him as a hypocrit or bigot you do not have to listen to him any more.

    who? the people in your church don't have to listen to him? or was he running it by ya'll to see how it sounds?
    wondering...do you guys reach outside of your church?

    When you visit a lost person and you try to lead him to Christ you do not want to give him any reason to focus on you, the messenger, rather than the message. We do reach out to the community spreading the gospel message. We also support evangelists and missionaries who are spreading the gospel.

    He was not running anything by us, he was giving us advice so we can avoid being marginalized by the sinner we speak with.
