Where would the Panthers be today if they had kept either Darnold or Mayfield and not traded away so much draft stock?

While Bryce has performed admirably this year, I just find myself looking at what we could have done by keeping one of those guys and building from the front back.

Could have gotten Jalen Carter DT and not had to spend all we did this past offseason. That is just the Bryce draft

It depends a lot on who they tapped as coach and GM. Darnold would have thrived in a Canales offense, but didn't work well for Rhule (surprisingly!).

I don't wish we had either of those guys.

It bother me more we gave so much up for Young when we could have just waited on Drake Maye. Everyone I told laughed at me but he is 2nd behind Josh Allen on FanDuel for MVP odds right now.

Panthers will answer your question the last 3 games of the year!

Besides filling his bank account what does work well for Rhule?

Quarterbacks don't fail teams. Teams fail quarterbacks. At that time, the Panthers were set up to fail any quarterback who took the field (including Bryce in year one). Maybe that's changing under Canales, but Darnold or Mayfield wouldn't have worked under Frank Reich's ill-conceived plan. They needed to end up in good situations with good coaching, and both guys did.

Yeah, the insane trade up was the biggest blunder from a front office standpoint. There is no hindsight is 20/20 there, because I ripped the trade the moment it happened. It was the most foolish, irresponsible front office decision in Panthers history, which is a high bar to clear.

Young will probably never be good enough justify that decision, and it's not his fault. It's the Carolina Panthers' fault. He was set up to be a bust from Day 1.
