Should the Panthers have at least tried a shot at the endzone after the Shockey fumble (like a pass on 1st down towards the endzone)? I mean, I know the drive ended on the Stewart TD run anyway, but after a turnover, I want to drive the knife into the heart. Yes, I know it's not been that way under Fox (going for the throat early), but seriously...there's plenty of firepower there. Use it, and try and sap their will early.

You would have to admit, the blocked punt in TB sucked out the life in the road team a week ago.

can't say for sure. If it works he's a saint, if they get intercepted and the ball is taken all the way back, it could swing the game's momentum and they end up losing. Sometimes its better to play it safe.

Fox has often asked for a deep ball directly after a turnover. Or, at least I assume so since it's happened across coordinators just as the draws have. We didn't try too much deep this week (though we didn't need to, after the long TD to Smith landed - and as fluky as it looked, you could tell that Smith was accelerating past them and they weren't looking at the ball anyway), so maybe there was something we saw there that was concerning.

I don't know why, Harper is OK but Kaesviharn is a third rate safety. Three of our players rode that guy for at least 5 yards apiece on a "tackle", which essentially meant our guy taking him on low, with the ball, and him being upright. Which led to my favorite comment of yesterday, that Smith rode Kaesviharn like he was a Kardashian.

don't want to peak too early... and at this point in the year, Fox establishes the team as who they are... all that shit gets plugged into the computers and then when the play-offs come around, they go outside the box and open things up...

Throwing deep after a turnover is a pretty common tactic. When it works it's devastating but when it doesn't it's second and long. I guess you get a feel, as a playcaller, for when to go for it.

Honestly we seem to be avoiding the deep ball this season, or at least more than in years past.

Jake was 7th/league for 20+ yard passes connected coming into the game. Some of it's RAC, sure.
