We have cap space because we have no money invested in DT or QB. Few players are on their second contracts. When the new coach gets here, he will want some players and some veterans. I would let DW walk. He has not been able to finish a season since 2008. I would sign TD and possibly let Anderson go (if an UFA) if he asks for a fortune for 1 good year. I was liking our LB depth before Jason Williams went down.

We will have to drop some serious coin on QB and DT. We need a quality RG. More serious coin re-signing Kalil, C Johnson, etc. We should probably extend Beason, give Gettis and Hardy a little more $, and If Goodson, Stewart, and Sutton can play, then I say (RELUCTANTLY) that the smart thing is to say bye to the banged up 28/29 year old RB. Of course, you could tag him and keep him another year. Prolly what they will do.

Ya'll need to stop this DW is injury prone BS. He went on IR at the tail end of 2 done by Nov seasons. They were decisions based on the future season. He would have been back if we were in the hunt.

Isn't the average career for an NFL running back 5 years?

I agree with CC, and I think he's got some tread left on those tires. Which does give him some trade value.

I love him as a Panther but we do need to rebuild a lot of areas on the team, RB could take the hit of losing him. If we could get a decent return, we need to work something out with someone.

I'm not for a minute saying that Goodson is as good as DWill, but he's good enough in combination with Stewart to use the savings on another need.
Thomas Davis was a freak before he was injured. If you think there's any chance he could be that player again, then I think you have to resign him.
I think the difference between Davis and Anderson is much greater than the difference between Williams and Goodson.

he took the first two seasons and the last part of the last two off, so he should be fresh.

I'd prefer a tag. Even renting him a year under the tag isn't terrible money, trading him would be a nice last resort, and you can always retag him again next year.

Davis, I'd still prefer him to Anderson. It'll depend on money, though. I know they'd prefer Davis.

It can't because Beason sucks at Will. Beason and Conner are essentially the same type player, and if I have to choose I choose Beason.

Even though Williams has wound up on IR twice now, I'm more concerned about Stewart's durability than DeAngelo's. I'd prefer re-signing DeAngelo and trading Stewart. Williams and Goodson would be the best combo at running back for us.

I'd also much prefer TD to Anderson. Anderson played well this season, but he's in his fifth season and really hasn't done much before this year as far as linebacker goes. Ideally, I'd keep both of them, but if it's a one or the other situation, give me TD.

so far no one's mentioned that Kalil is involved in this too.

Granted Marshall is too, but I think we're all resigned to him walking and are almost indifferent to it. The Gamble thing is still weird.
