Are you serious? Because I'm getting a big kick out of you giving credit to Delhomme for taking the Panthers to the Super Bowl. It had nothing to do with a good defense and Steve Smith, did it? And don't give me the crap about Smith had to have someone throw it to him. Any QB in the NFL can do that, with the exception of maybe Weinke, and technically I don't think he's in the NFL right now. The Panthers would have won a super bowl if they had a different QB, IMO.

Oh well, I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one. But I'm willing to bet that Delhomme will be getting either A) benched during the year or B) a lot of cussings from us, the fans (as per every year).

And Magnus, you will have to simplify your vocabulary for me, because I evidently don't understand what your getting at with that comment. I'll just leave it at this, Delhomme was the back up quarterback in New Orleans for a reason. And a back up to Aaron Brooks too if I'm not mistaken. That says a little about him.

Did you watch the same Super Bowl I did? Jake was the only damn reason we were in the game. We couldn't run for shit and New England was pounding our asses with the run.

Sure he didn't play great last season; but the same could be said of 52 other guys too. That doesn't discount what he did the end of '03 and the playoffs that year, or putting a MASH unit on his back in 04 and almost willing them to a playoff spot.

I just don't get all the hate for the QB who has had the most postseason success of any QB we've ever had...:banghead:

Jake had a 113 passer rating with 3 td and no interceptions for 323 yards in the Super Bowl. I'm fairly critical about Jake but to say he was the (or even one of several) issues in the Super Bowl is plain wrong.

Good point. But what was his completion percentage. I'll save you the time...48%. Not too good if you ask me, but who am I to say?! Take away the 8 catches, 220 yards and two TDs by Smith and Moose and what do you have? A quarterback who was 8 for ____ (not sure how many passes were attempted to each receiver and others) with 103 yards and 1 TD. I don't think you can give his stats full credit to Jake, especially not the 84 yd TD to Moose.

OK, we can all argue this until we turn green, but I'll concede. I will HOPE Jake plays better and has a great year. All I hope is the Panthers win. I don't care if it's with Dan Morgan at QB! Just win baby!

It's really simple. Jake is the starter and should be. Fox will give him every oppurtunity to lead the team. If Jake struggles, Fox will have a quicker hook with Carr as the back-up than he did with Weinke. Getting Carr was a very good move by the Panther, now let's see if they can get some help in the draft. This is a huge draft for this team. They need to score with a lot of picks or the future of the team is bleak.

OK, I have to ask. How many QBs do you think are going to look good stat wise if you ignore completions to their starting WRs? I'm thinking that list won't be very long.

I’m optimistic (proceed with caution though) about adding Carr. I believe he will provide the type of competition that will make Jake make himself a better QB. In the event that Jake sucks now (Warner-thumb or loss of confidence etc etc) then I like Carr stepping in. If our O-line can stay relatively healthy Carr obviously has the skills to lead an offense . . . Just hope the new OC can get whoever we have out there scoring more points.)
