running games make average QB's look good. I don't think any QB, especially one who's been cut want's to go somewhere where they don't want to strenghthen the run.

I know he got a lot of hype at one point, but not really. In fact, we was replaced at the end of the year by Cleo Lemon. Other than the Detroit game, he was pretty ugly. Did Miami suck? Yeah, and I'm sure that didn't help, but he's never been consistant enough to be a starter. He shows flashes, but seems to offset every one great game with four awful games.

I'd settle for him if we can't get Carr.

I don't think we should assume Jake has a free ride. Remember, we are expected to be a playoff team. If we have another start like last year, right or wrong, a lot of the blame will fall on the quarterback.

that is the point isn't it? Do we want a player capable of getting the job done or do we want a body keeping a roster spot warm?

I hope we do. Carr would be a great pickup for the Panthers. After watching Jake do the "chuck and duck" routine quite a few times last year he needs a push from the bench. A QB competition would be a good thing imo...

anyone who can look good in preseason and/or win a game in Jake's absence will create QB arguments. there were those for a time that argued heavily for the Weinkmester because he had a couple of decent preseason games. Carr comes here and is the backup, most will have you think he walks on water. probably, Harrington too. I personally liked him, what little I saw of him, and have never understood why he hasn't become a good one.

having two good QBs is not always a bad thing. Dallas had, I think, Meredith and Staubach for a while. 49's, Montana and Young. It's probably a good thing for a team unless the backup is making some noise. Note: I'm not trying to compare a Jake and Carr combo to either of the other two combos mentioned herein ... just say'in, i think it would be good thing to have two good QB's despite having to listen to all the shit.

I guess my point was to ask how many QB are really going to look somewhere else becuase a team wants to strengthen the run. That sounds absurd to me. Maybe Marino

I here he wants to be ATL backup. He sent them tapes. It would be pretty fircken sweet if vicky went down week 2 and George was their backup.

Oh yeah, one more for Carr over Harrington.

But it must be very pleasing for the decision makers to see both Carr and Harrington coming in for visits next week while Peppers makes the Pro Bowl once again. We dodged one enormous bullet there, maybe us being Homers with Peppers really paid off. Would that decision had been made if Peppers played for USC, California that is?

We had no problem drafting a UCLA RB in the early 2nd, so I'd imagine we'd have taken him regardless of where he played.
