We are going to have to pack a run game to beat the Colts, at any rate. With as immobile as Vinnie is, and with Carr's history with dealing with a strong rush, me thinks we want to limit possessions.

I took this to mean he's made a lot of players better during his career. Sorenson made it sound like he has made PANTHER players better, but Kasay never said that.

Then there's the whole thing about not giving Peyton 60 looks at our disgustingly poor coverage gaps in the middle of the field. If he wasn't down a couple of his favorite past weapons, he could absolutely torch us. Probably still will.

I hope no one on this board is stupid enough to even fantasize about beating them. They do struggle against good, agressive defenses & solid run games on grass, but we have neither and our secondary is little better than the Colts scout team in coverage.

Boring. I had a steak afterwards and caught the end of the game though, so it wasnt a total waste of an outing.

If we start VT next game with a perfectly healthy Carr on the bench, I think that will sum up his future with the Panthers.:60:

I rather have Carr in the line-up. The offense did not move at all in the first half and if we did not have incredible field position we would have been shut out (lack of run game also). The scores in the second half were more of a result of Smith and DW. I think Vinny is a fine back-up option, but I would feel much more comfortable with Carr leading the way.

You are very emotional about this stuff yourself. You are the one discounting one guy's stats because a corner lost his man and at the same time giving the other guy credit when a pass was dropped or a penalty was called. That smacks of emotional bias as much as anything I ever say.

No, it smacks of reality. It's a fact that Hood inexplicably released Smith on that play. It's also a fact that Carr had several good throws that should have been completions against New Orleans that weren't for whatever reason. You don't get extra credit for plays that didn't count and you don't have to give back points the other team's defense stupidly gave you, but you should always be aware of those things when evaluating performance.

Remember how you babbled incoherently about how much better our running game was following the St. Louis and Atlanta wins? Remember how I cautioned you that we did the same thing to them last season, and that it wasn't a sign that we'd legitimately turned the corner as a running team? I was right and you were wrong for like the thousandth time precisely because I pay attention to the context while you don't.
