YeahLarry, you're right, I'm the second set. I'm guessing you recognized the 50mm 1.8 and that's how you knew?

FWIW, The one in the middle of the first pic, who's missing in my pic of the same two girls, is a TBR alum.

    Thanks for the feedback guys.

Serious question. How much does a photo software package do you use. Did you clean those up?

In general, how much photoware is used these days. It seems if you take near a decent picture you can 'shop' it up to make it look perfect.

It certainly can add a lot, but in these particular pictures I didn't do much, just added some contrast. I've got the RAW files at home so I'll post them tonight for comparison.

I'm still learning the editing software too, so I'm far from skilled, but it is amazing what you can do. things like getting rid of blemishs, wrinkles and shadows are simple and really add a lot to the final product.

Yours I like because of the lighting. Hers are better composed.

hers are also cropped (they're all different sizes). big mark's look like they're all the same size which implies they are what he shot.

mark, if you've got the raw files you could probably do some cropping and maybe burn the bg a bit to bring the focus to the fg subjects.

I like both sets. The second set has more color and depth with more of the environment included to show more of what is going on and where they are at. BUT, the top set is obviously shot with a bigger flash and the shot is exposed for the subject in the picture and not for everything around them... focusing the viewer on the key element of the photograph and not distracting background elements.

Here are the "Before" (converted straight from RAW, no adjustments) and the "After" of the 3 pictures before
