DOH. Yes, definitely do this. I stupidly assumed you already had. In fact, do this first. It may solve your problem.

If she just installed it, I'm gonna assume that's already been run. Default for Ad-Adaware, it Updates the Definition Files, Runs a full system scan, and shows you that read me bullshit.

That's right. On the install it says it's going to run a full scan. It's when you start it up after the install that it will default to a 'smart system scan'.

Honey, you might have to go through the 'Add/Remove Programs' list and uninstall stuff you didn't purposefully install. I usually do that before I even run a scan when I'm cleaning up PC's.

Gawd - you're all so kind. Thank you so very much. I'm going to redownload stuff tonight and try and get rid of this bloody thing! Thank you again for your advice, links and understanding. I kinda feel all dirty'n'stuff. Like I've just caught cyber crabs :weeping:.

    YOU!.
"Come play with us - you'll love it".
"Naw - I'm not good with this sort of thing"
"Come onnnnnnnnnnnn - click this.....and download it"
"You're alright mate - you go. I'll catch up later. I'm not good with chess".
    "Go ON"
"Okay - I'll give it a go". Which is the cyber equivelant of removing your knickers.

I love you Plu - I will get through this *sniff*.

son of a bitch - I did that on mine and the list is never ending. There has to be a bunch of crap on this list that doesn't need to be there. There are 43 processes on the list.

I got an old computer ( originally had 128mb RAM) and it was running very slow especially at start up. I added 512 RAM to it and that hepled greatly but now I want to get rid of all the crap. The 43 processes are under various "user names" Some say SYSTEM, some say NETWORK SERVICE, some LOCAL SERVICE and the rest say mark. I wish I could cut and paste the list here. I suppose I could paste a screen print.

I'm not nearly as pretty or as sweet as Honeygirl but would the geek squad help me out here? Harry - I'll even say something nice about the 49ers if you help.

One thing I was wondering was if crap downloaded by my daughter or my son would show up on this list. Every time my daughter gets on the net it seems like there is some new program running. They are always going to game sites and sites with smilies, screen savers, away messages etc. - do I need to log into XP as them and do the same thing or will it pick up everything here as administrator?
