IIRC, Jerry Richardson is one that doesn't want to share revenues either (local revenues).

We are a have, despite our small market. Naming Rights, PSLs, and agressive marketing to the region have upped our profits.

See my comment on not wanting to be carrying the weight of poorly run teams.

Already sharing 80% of revenue is substantial as well.

Suprisingly, this comment from Jones in the article linked above sound like he's possibly ready to compromise:

    Where are you Wellington Mara?

There is equal blame to go between the owners and players. Owners for screwing each other by not sharing as Mara had hoped, and the players for wanting stadium name money etc..

IMO if the players take that stance they shouldn't have a problem with sharing their revenue from Nike commercials, Chunky soup, all autographs and appearance fees, etc. etc.

They're trying. The owners. Clayton writes they've been exchanging proposals all day, and SERIOUSLY talking about them, not posturing. If they adopt the proposal that they all least hate, then things will work out. If the owners unite, and say this is how much money there really is, the players will accept it. They're not going to accept if if there is alot held by a couple of clubs. It does look like those clubs are trying to share without undercutting themselves.

2:25 to go. Just saying. So no to tonight. But there is plenty of time, AS LONG AS THEY KEEP TRYING TO WORK IT OUT.

Kraft and the Jets have one of the revenue sharing proposals being considered. He's not going to make it where he can't pay for his stadium.

Wellington Mara couldnt just walk in and solve this. This is not a simple issue, and its not just about attitude. Owners or players.

NFL | Salary cap deadline pushed back two hours
    Wed, 8 Mar 2006 15:33:43 -0800

ESPN.com's John Clayton reports, the NFL's waiver deadline to get below the salary cap has been moved back two hours, from 9 p.m. ET Wednesday, March 8, to 11 p.m. ET.

NFL | More on owner's meeting
    Wed, 8 Mar 2006 15:28:23 -0800

ESPN.com's John Clayton reports, as noted earlier, NFL owners are studying at least four different revenue plans. There is a Pittsburgh model being pushed by Dan and Art Rooney of the Pittsburgh Steelers. The plan would have each team put 25 percent of local revenues into a pool that would be distributed to teams in the lower end of the revenue streams. There is a New England Patriots/New York Jets model that expands on an already existing local revenue sharing plan. Currently, $40 million of local revenue is being shared. The Patriots/Jets model expands that number significantly. At this point no system has the 24 votes needed to pass.
