Please help a compu-idiot out . . .

For a long time I wasn't using any email programs--just going to the charter website to check my email. No problems downloading & saving pictures from there. Then I re-set my Outlook Express & started using it; & it won't let me download attachments of ANY kind from anyone.

Then I downloaded & started using this Incredi-Mail program, which I really like. No problem downloading attachments; but I must have changed something when I was fucking around with Outlook. Daughter sent me a zip file of photos, which I can download; but I can't figure out how to open the damn thing to get at the pics.

Any ideas what I might have screwed up, & what I can do to fix it?

I did try changing around the "open this file with" such-&-such program command, but evidently never got the right one.

Incredimail will only cause you pain in the long run. Spyware.

If you have Windows XP, you can open zip files, but if you have anything else, you'll need WinZip or something like that. You can get a fully-functioning evaluation copy of WinZip from winzip.com.

And any email worth anything will make you save a zip file to your drive first, rather than letting you open it directly from the message.
