 Dude, you're really making yourself look like an idiot with all these excuses, especially with everyone talking about how well the offensive line has done since the Atlanta game. Honestly, if you want to retain even a shred of credibility, knock it off.
No one is saying that, but Jake has certainly been the biggest reason that we suck on third downs. There's no arguing that fact.

No, they really, really haven't. Aside from Seattle he's definitely been good in the playoffs and better than he has been in the regular season, which is exactly what you want out of your QB, but when you pretend that he's been as good as Brady or someone like that, then you just look like someone who is trying anything to argue with me about Delhomme because you're obsessed with my criticism of him.
You're criticizing me for being irritated that our QB has the absolute worst completion percentage in the entire league on 3rd downs? Seriously, magnus, when you get like this you just make yourself look absurd. Disagreeing with me is not, or at least shouldn't be, as essential to you as breathing. There's no reason you have to pretend I'm being unreasonable every time I say anything at all bad about Delhomme. Being the worst QB in the league on third downs sucks, regardless of whether it's me pointing it out or not.

I think you have a much different idea of "good" than I do. "Good" to me is a little above average. To you, "taking away the Seattle game", in the top few of NFL history, is "good". And yes, he was absolutely stellar in those games, the statistics don't complain of some nonexistant grudge.

That's awesome, because it's not to me, either. It certainly seems to bother you, for some reason, but maybe you could shelve that.
And I'm not criticizing you for "being irritated". I'm just stating that I know what you feel, and that you don't have to correct me on it.

No, not really. He was very good or even great against New England in the Super Bowl, which was awesome, and very good/great in the playoffs against Chicago last year. St. Louis he didn't have a TD until Smith took the slant the distance, and he hasn't had more than one passing TD in any other playoff performance. That's still very good overall, but I don't get where you can say he's been "as good as any." Brady has certainly been better, at minimum.
It bugs me when you disagree with me because it's me who's saying it. There is no rational reason for you to not be disappointed that Jake is the worst QB in the NFL on 3rd down, you just pretend that it's acceptable because I have a problem with it and you've developed a complex about my criticism of Delhomme. The two explanations are that you're defending Jake because A) you're dumb (which you aren't, so that's ruled out) or because B) you want to disagree with me. I don't see any other logical explanation for you defending Delhomme being the worst QB in the league on 3rd down.

    easy, QB rating.
That'd suggest it's only me that defends Jake, or that I only disagree with you. It does seem that you get really defensive about it, so I gotta believe there's some truth to that. If you don't, that's fine. Either way, it does get tired seeing you complain about every last thing I disagree with you about, whether you disagreed first or not.

And I didn't defend him on 3rd down. I stated he was allright overall. 20/29 I can deal with. Not throwing a stupid pick I can deal with. If he's playing too conservatively, a la Buffalo last year, then he'll get over that in time. My exact words were "if this is as bad as it gets, I'll take it." I don't see that as huge praise.

QB rating alone isn't really a valid reason to claim that Delhomme has been as good as Brady in the playoffs. As noted, he only really had "great" games against New England and Chicago. His others were pretty pedestrian with occasional great moments. Look, I'm definitely not saying he hasn't been very good in the playoffs, because he has and that's great, but I just don't think you can legitimately say that he's been as good as anyone.
Defensive? No. Irritated? Yes. Of course I'm irritated when someone says "I'll still take it and look for better. If you don't take it, that's on you" in response to Jake being last in 3rd down completion percentage. I have no doubt whatsoever that if anyone else said anything so dumb, you'd have a problem with them saying it too. That's why I think you're only saying such dumb things because you're obsessed with disagreeing on any criticisms I make of Delhomme.
    Yes, you actually did.

I've disagreed with several people about the quality of the line play against Cleveland and this wasn't an issue. It's not like you haven't claimed that I'm biased against Delhomme, so me suggesting that you're biased against me isn't that far-fetched, especially considering the evidence. But sure, let's agree to disagree.

Jake may not be the best Qb in the league by any means, but he has one stat that i like. 14 fourth quarter comebacks. He is a natural leader. He motivates his teamates. He also plays big in big games most of the time.
