I found this interesting because you know that atleast one of these guys will flop. History tells you that one will and there is probably an even or better chance two will flop. If all three flop it will not be shocking.

Phil Simms forgets that Brady had a shitty arm coming out of Michigan, and still isn't above average. The thing that makes him exceptional is his touch, and that's something Leinart has in abundance. I don't get his argument about Cutler being the safest pick either. I think he confused himself, because I would agree that Cutler is the most adaptable and would fit in with almost any offense, but that doesn't make him safe.

Brady has always been a cut above in terms of work ethic. Pick up a copy of Mike Holley's book on the Pats. It chronicles (thoroughly) the difference between Brady and Blesdoe/Mike Bishop in his rookie year. He was always the first to practice, to film study. The guy is almost obsessive about film study, according to Belichick. And BB doesn't hand out compliments on a silver platter.

He does have nice touch, but his arm strength has improved as well. I will never forget the touchdown pass he threw to Bethel Johnson last year vs. Atlanta. It might have been the prettiest deep ball I have ever seen.

Simms usually annoys the hell out of me, but I can't really argue with anything he says here. Especially like the sleeper pick, Jackson does look like a very solid QB down the road. I can see him being a back-up for a few years, then stepping in for someone injured and not giving up the job. He's somewhat raw and hasn't faced the level of competition, but he's got some upside.

Interesting. So Jackson sounds a lot like Vince Young, doesn't he?

If I were a coach or GM who had to make draft decisions taking a QB in the top five picks would scare the crap out of me. I know other positions have busts too but it is almost a crap shoot with QBs. It seems like just as many bust as make it.

I would much rather try to find a guy who has learned on someone's bench and sign him than draft a guy. I know sometimes it works out well like Carson Palmer or Peyton but you have to bet so much on that pick working out it is scary. Imagine putting a huge contract and four years of development into a guy only to find out he is the next Joey Harrington. I would rather develop a guy and find a cheap veteran ala Brad Johnson than to draft a QB high.

All this makes me really glad we have Delhomme. There may be better QBs out there but he did not cost us much until he proved himself.

Which is why I think Young is OVERHYPED.

Leinart is the only QB in this draft I feel has a chance if he starts right away. Cutler and Young will both need work.

Young is overhyped in the sense that 95% of all the quarterbacks in the draft have been overhyped. If you gave me a choice between them, I'd take Vince Young over Alex Smith.

I wouldn't disagree, but I don't see Young doing any better than Smith with what the Faggie-9ers have.

I think Leinhardt will do pretty well in the NFL. He will probably be a solid starter if not a star. He has the experience in a big time program to help him a lot. He reminds me of Peyton Manning a bit in that he performed at a high level in the spot light and stayed all four years. The rest of the guys are gambles. I would probably rate Cutler higher than Young only because I value his passing ability more than Young's atheletic ability.
