    He is better than what we have. I know you have a man crush on Nate Salley and get sick at the thought of us getting a free safety who was not selling insurance last year but still it would improve our team if your starters claim to fame was not established in the World League.

    No, Nate Salley is dead to me.

    Just curious as to what you see in Wilson? Strengths? How would he have made us better? And who else on the market would have made us a better team, at a reasonable price tag, seeing how we're not 40 million under the cap.

    Wilson has started in a lot of big games and has held up pretty well. He is not elite but he is solid and that is all we really need. I just hate to see us be forced to choose between a late round rookie or a street free agent for our starter.

    Starting in a lot of big games and holding up pretty well does not equate to an upgrade. Tangibles? Is he rangy? Gets to the ball with minimal effort? Any injury concerns? How about ability to hold up vs PA, since NO and TB live off that shit? And why the fuck was he benched for James Sanders?

    Again, we could use Ed Reed, but we have other things to focus on, given our scheme.

    It does not have to be Wilson but it needs to be somebody. Why leave a gaping hole in the starting roster when you do not have to? Important to our scheme or not you pay the price when you start a scrub. Several games spring to mind where we lost because a safety missed a tackle or missed his assignment.

    he lost it because they changed philosophy a little bit when Harrison returned. He had problems with injuries, including an ankle. I think them drafting Merriwether obviously impacted all this, too.

    I'd have been fine with him here, FWIW, despite some negatives.


    anyway, why's this about safety now?
