I noticed that Peppers has a nasty habit of overrunning running plays to his side and gets taken out of the play easily. But I don't fault him for many things and he is a great talent.

But I think he doesn't play up to his pay, no matter how bad the rest of the dline is. And I think the major complaint is he is overpaid for what he does, not that he doesn't do all that well or whatever.

I just wonder if the 16+ million would be better spent on 2 players making 8 mil each

it really was interesting to see my own reaction when they showed him being out of the game in the 2nd.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised about the reactions to game to game changes. Everette Brown had good games in the first two games, when he had sacks and actually played, and then in the 3rd game when he didn't play since he's not a starter, it was "is Brown worth what we gave?"

We are talking about a million dollars. A million!

Brown, I didn't need any games at all to assess whether or not he was worth it: no he was not worth a middle to high #1, which is what it'll be. IMO, which may turn out to be wrong. Yet another consequence of the Peppers situation, overpaying for a contingency plan.

We could have let Peppers walk and gave his money to Hayesworth and probably been better off.

We could have let him walk and signed a couple of solid mid level veterans like Rocky Bernard, Bertrand Berry, Byron Leftwich or Brian Dawkins and probably been better off.

Haynesworth is taking his fair share of time off in Washington.
Or we'd be complaining about a team full of guys better off as backups starting and still complaining about the lack of pass rush.

When you're 0-2 there is always plenty to bitch about. 0-3 is staring us in the face too.
