Peppers owes us

    Pepp was a great player here, and while I hated to see him go it was his right to be able to choose the team/city where he plays and lives.

    But he did have a tendency to rely too much on his athletic ability, and let his technique suffer. He would engage too high, get lazy in his moves, and that's where some rookie stand in would keep him at bay. If he had Jared Allen's motor and Dwight Freeney's technique he'd be a Hall of Famer. Instead he's content to be "very good". His choice. And I somewhat can't blame him.

    there were a lot of those games. He struggled from college with strong players who could lock onto him, and while Jordan Gross got plenty of shit for never getting freak-strong, it seems like Peppers got a pass for being really large but not really strong.

    Because Pep trains with & lifts with rubber bands instead of with iron like elite DE's, same problem with Gross except he's more of a lazy ass.
