    If he signs the tag offer then we can trade him wherever we want. The other team would only have him for one year and would have to pay him the tag number but it is theoretically possible.

    It's not possible in your own theory, in which we trade Peppers 'rights' by tagging him and trading him without him signing.

    EDIT: He can't hold out if he signs the deal, BTW.

    well yeah it's possible, it's possible I might fly the space shuttle but not likely

    a team would have to be pretty stupid to do that without a signed deal or a lot of assurances there would be one

    depends on what they give up. Would you rent Peppers for one year at $16mm for a 3rd round pick? Just sayin'

    I would think it would be less than a third round pick. If we called up the Lions and offered them Peppers for a seventh round pick admitting that he is only signed for one year and probably wont sign a long term deal with them they might go for it.

    It will never happen but would be funny if it did.
